Placenta WHAT?!?!
Placenta encapsulation is a traditional
process that involves preparing and
dehydrating the placenta, then putting it
into capsule form.
Studies have shown
that consuming the placenta may be
beneficial to a mother in several
different ways (increased milk
production, improving fatigue, improving
iron levels, and possibly improving
mood). By taking the placenta in
capsule form, you can reap all of these
benefits in a much more "palatable" way.

F.A.Q.

Soon to come! If you have a FAQ to submit, feel free to contact me!
How does the process work?
Generally, clients have lots of questions before deciding for sure that they'd
like to encapsulate. I'm always happy to answer questions!

I take a limited number of clients each month (based on estimated due
dates). Once you have booked with me to reserve your spot, I'm on call for
you! Then you simply give me a call as soon as possible after you've given
birth and we'll arrange a day and time for me to come begin the process.
Legally, placenta encapsulation needs to be performed in the client’s home.
To transport your placenta from the hospital to your home, you can double
bag it in two Ziploc freezer bags, trying to avoid as much air in the bags as
possible. Put the placenta in a cooler with ice packs, and transport it home
ASAP. Store it in the Ziploc bags in a bowl in the refrigerator. If it’s going to
be longer than 2-3 days, you can freeze it.

What can I expect?
The process involves two visits, with east visit lasting a few hours. On the first
day, I will prepare the placenta, and begin the dehydration process. I will let
you know when to turn off the dehydrator. On the second day I will come back
to grind and encapsulate the placenta.

Pricing & Payments
The cost for placenta encapsulation is $300 for local clients.* However, if
you've taken my
childbirth classes, or if you've hired me as your doula, I offer
encapsulation at a discounted price of $275 for local clients.* Since I take a
limited number of clients each month, there is a $50 non-refundable deposit
to book your due date. The balance is due upon completion of my final visit.
*Local clients are considered those within a 25 mile radius of Rancho Cucamonga or
Upland. For clients outside of this radius, there is a travel expense of $25 for 26-50 miles,
and $50 for 51-75 miles.
